神经干细胞是神经发生的基础。神经干细胞库的维持不但对大脑的早期发育有着至关重要的作用,而且与成年阶段大脑功能的正常行使密切相关。神经干细胞的命运受到多种机制的精密调节,包括遗传和表观遗传因子。本研究将以啮齿类和灵长类动物为模型,运用遗传、细胞和分子生物学等手段进一步探索调控其神经干细胞命运和神经发生的广谱和物种特异性机制,为促进成年哺乳动物(尤其是灵长类)的神经发生和损伤修复提供线索。
Neural stem cells (NSCs) are the source of neurogenesis. The maintenance of NSC pool is not only critical for brain development, but also for adult brain functions. The fate of NSC requires very precise regulations, involving both genetic and epigenetic factors. Using genetics, cell biology and molecular biology techniques in rodent and primate models, we aim to investigate the general and species-specific mechanisms in the regulation of NSC fate and adult neurogenesis. Our study will provide clues and potential strategies to improve adult neurogenesis and brain repair in mammals, especially in primates.
